A Brief History
St Benedict, was born at 02 March 480 C.E. in Nurcia, from Lombardi province (Italy) and he died in 547 C.E. Traditionally, St Benedict is known as being the founder of a a community of monks at Mount Casino and is reputably recognized as the founder of monasticism in West of Europe.
St Benedict proclaimed in 529 C.E. a set of rules to achieve eternal blessing:
- the first was believing and living fully the Holy Bible.
- the second rule: worshipping God Almighty.



His doctrine has been dismissed by his jealous rivals, hence under dark circumstances they pursued to assassinate St Benedict. St Benedict was miraculously saved by the Gods’ grace, therefore the devotion to commemorate his victory against unbelievers and the wickedness of the Evil spirits.
