A brief history
The Exorcism was composed by Pope Leo XIII (1810-1903) and was included in The Roman Catholic Rite in 1903.
Pope Leon XIII composed this prayer after he celebrated the Holy Mass in the Sixtine Chapel of the Vatican. When the mass was ended, the pope remained for about 10 minutes, kneeling in front of the altar, as if he experienced a mystical state. Thereafter, Pope Leo XIII went to his room, where he composed the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel and the Exorcism.
On 29/09/1985, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith imposed a norm, in Inde ab aliquot annis letter. The norm says that the Exorcism can be used by the faithful Christians in private only, by themselves or in groups, recommending also a good confession and the Holly Communion.
The Exorcism can be performed in private groups or individually, in the church or elsewhere.
They should avoid, though, to pray the Exorcism in the presence of possessed people as it can be extremely dangerous.
Situation in which it is recommended praying the Exorcism:
a. when somebody feels the presence of the evil in his life: by cursing, uncleaniness, hatred, dispair, etc.
b. when the evil is present in the family: disagreements, argues, beatings, etc.
c. when the evil is present in the society: imoral acts, curses, sacrileges of holly days, scandals, etc.
d. when the evil is present among the nations: wars, genocides, etc.
e. when the evil condemning the Church.
f. when the diseases arises suddenly for no reason: pandemics, extreme weather (storms, hurricanes, etc) or pest outages.

Introductory prayer for the intercession of St Michael the Archangel
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prince of the Heavenly Host, Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in our battle against the powers of darkness and against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
Come to the aid of mankind, whom God created in His image and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the enemy by the Holy Blood of Jesus Christ, His beloved Son.
The Holy Church honours you as her Guardian and Protector; to you, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed to be led into heavenly beatitude.
Pray, therefore, to the God of Peace to keep Satan crushed under our feet, so that he may no longer hold mankind captive or cause harm to the Church.
Present our prayers before the Most High, so that His divine mercy may descend swiftly upon us. Bind the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, and cast him into the abyss, that he may deceive the nations no more. Amen.
The Exorcism
In the Holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our God, by the intercession of Ever Virgin Mary, mother of God, of St Michael the Archangel, St Peter and Paul, and all saints, with trust we start our fight against wickedness and temptasions of evil.

Thus, we command you, cursed dragon and any evil host, in the name of God Alive, in the name of Holy God, cease deceiving people and to spread the poison of eternal damnation; stop harming the Church and to obstruct its liberty.
Begone, Satan, lier and expert of deceive, enemy of human redemption. Let Christ in your place, cease your place to the Church, for Christ has redeemed with his Blood.
Be humble, under powerful hand of God, seize and run to invocation of saint and extraordinary name of Jesus, who bring the terror into hell, for the heavenly virtues, the thrones and dominions, are obeiding and for Heruvims and Seraphyms who praise forever, saying: “Holy, holy, Holy is God, God the Creator of universe”.
Oh Lord, hear my prayer
And when I call, listen me.
Oh, God of Heaven, God of angels, God of archangels, God of patriarchs, God of prophets, God of apostles, God of marthyrs, God of confessors, God of virgins, God, everlasting live giver and rest after fatique- for there is no other God but You and there is not possible to exist another like You, Eternal Creator, of all things visible and invisible,- we utterly humbly urge you to set out free and from any tyranny, trespass, deceive, and outage with the evil sprits, to protect us forever, so to be exempt from any harm.
To Christ our Lord, Amen!
